The LENS process
Before any active treatment begins, we'll take time for a thorough assessment. This includes talking through your history, current symptoms, sleep, mood, energy and cognitive patterns, and checking there's nothing that would make LENS unsuitable for you.
This groundwork means every session that follows is genuinely tailored to your brain and your goals, rather than a one-size-fits-all approach.
Once we begin, the process is simple and comfortable.
A small number of sensors — often just one or two at a time — are placed on the scalp with a touch of conductive gel; there's no need for a full cap of electrodes.
You'll sit back and relax, eyes closed, while the equipment reads your brain's activity and delivers its faint responding signal. Nothing is felt, and nothing is required of you beyond resting quietly.
Depending on what we're working towards, a session might involve building a broader picture of how different areas of your brain are currently communicating and functioning, or it might focus in on one or two specific sites linked to the difficulties you've described.
Over time, and as we track your progress together, we can shift between a whole-brain view and more targeted work — adjusting the approach as your brain responds and your goals evolve.
